How it works

How it works

Competitors receive 1 point for each position they finish higher than last place, plus 1. Competitors finishing in the top 5 also receive bonus points (10,7,5,3,1). All events conducted as part of the selected competitions are weighted evenly. All sports have an equal weight in the rankings so each sport's score is then scaled out of 100. A maximum of two representitives from each nation is counted towards the rankings.

Great Britain
As the nations of Great Britain compete separately in some sports and as one in others, the four nation's (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) results have been combined and ranked as Great Britain. In team sports such as cricket and rugby, the highest ranked team contributes to the Great Britain score.

West Indies
West Indies’ results have not been combined as one nation nor distributed among the participant countries as the entity only exists in one sport.
